Hey guys leaving British Columbia now, spending 3 weeks in USA and 3 weeks in Baja! We know the trips not gonna be quite the same but any updates if spots like Shell island, Cocos to Hwy 1, Mag Bay, Mision San Javier or Borja, Santiago Hot Springs, Cabo to Cabo Pulmo are accesable if if we should steer clear it would be much appreciated! :) Looking forward to helping out where we can ... anything we can bring down? Keep an eye out for a white Totota FJ Cruiser rolling by and come say hi :D
Thanks!

Shell Island was as beautiful as ever, earlier this month. It was a quarter moon, so no mud or water to drive through to get on the island. So, depends on the lunar phase if access will be easy or not. Full or new moon (and a couple days either side of it) brings on the highest (and lowest) tides. Instead of following the former raised causeway onto the island, ending at the concrete bridge, we veered off onto the original (pre-1984) access that heads at a SE angle to the beach where the fisherman's shack is. Even if covered with water, the track is firm and as long as you don't get off it (and into the oatmeal mud), you will be fine. In that mud, low range and A-TRAC are your friend! In the sand, H4 is the ticket.
