So beautiful. I love the rare moments when the bay looks like a lake.

Hi Bob & Susan,
Any idea of how the Cuesta Real fared? We usually stop there on the way to La Ventana/El Sargento

Bob and Susan - 9-28-2014 at 05:47 AM

a little muddy but they are really cleaning...
all the river was flooded

give it a week or two and it will be "as normal"...

the family is taking care of business

the area has really cleaned up in the last week...lots of workers assisting

Cuesta Real had about 5 ft of water and 18inches of mud, which has already been cleared out. Once theyhave water , possibly next week, things will get back to normal rapidly. The riverscape view has changed opening up a vista to the other side of the river.

When we stayed at CR in early March, you could figure out the water line from last Novembers storm. They did a great job of cleaning that one up. Did this flood reach that level or higher? Too bad that mud can't be used as mulch, it's made the Mississippi delta a fertile AG zone.....

No, the water level there was much lower, but much much more mud. This mud glows in the dark, must be good for something :)
