why not? I've never been hassled but I usually only bring 1 BBQ tank.bajalearner - 10-1-2014 at 05:06 PM
I've never seen or heard it being a problem.
Isn't propane allot cheaper in MX?Bob53 - 10-1-2014 at 06:21 PM
I would just buy it in Baja. Much cheaper.mtgoat666 - 10-1-2014 at 07:15 PM

Is there a propane shortage in bola? Had not heard that.
Perhaps if you don't know what is needed, then cash is a better donation. With cash they (locals, informal aid groups or NGOs) can buy and distribute
what is truly needed, rather than people guessing at what to donate.baconjr - 10-1-2014 at 07:18 PM

Yup, true.
CHEAPER: yup, true.
NEVER ASKED: yup, true.
I go down mostly empty, enough to cover a week or two, then fill. Depending on the filling plant, it's best to have entirely empty tanks. (oh gawd,
here I go again...) some will charge you a full-fill when you still have gas in the bottle. SOME WILL. Like gas stations, getting better; but I
ALWAYS try to have empty bottles, and all of 'em (got my Li'l back-up to run the fridge) done there.
Propane, butane, ane-ane, you ain't ruining a $55K diesel.aguachico - 10-2-2014 at 11:59 AM

not really true. mexican gas does contain far more butane than allowable in the u.s. and although very close, butane burns a bit hotter, cleaner and
longer than the propane you'll get norte.msteve1014 - 10-2-2014 at 02:45 PM
I have been burning a 70/30 propane/butane mix for years. My bbq, stove, refer. do not see a difference.Udo - 10-2-2014 at 02:56 PM
Speaking from a culinary point of view, Baja's propane burns about 30% hotter that US propane.
On my Baja stoves, I have had to put flame diffusers on the stove burners if I need to cook anything at 185 degrees or below. At times I have had to
use two flame diffusers in order to reduce the flame so the liquid I am cooking is between 165 and 170.
