Kibble delivery needed. Anyone headed to San Juanico via Loreto?

Marla Daily - 10-10-2014 at 06:34 AM

We are unable to make our October delivery of food and supplies to the "feral" sisters who live at the San Gregorio fish camp at the mouth of Rio La Purisima (north side). These sisters, Maria Jesus and Maria Antonia, are older, live hand to mouth in the cactus/ fishnet hut they built on the bluff, and they have two little dogs who rely upon the kibble we have been delivering for years.

We have the kibble ready to go in Loreto. If someone is driving to San Juanico from the south thru Insurgentes, it is but a few miles out of the way to San Gregorio. It will be an unforgettable experience meeting these sisters.

Two decades ago they walked to the coast from deep in the mountains after they lost their goats in a drought. They don't know how old they are. (mid-70s I'm guessing.) To survive, they live out of the tidepools (barnacles and snails) and salvage fishguts and trimmings from the local fishermen. They hunt rabbits and quail. Since the 1990s, we have provided them with food staples 3X a year (rice, beans, canned goods, masa etc.) They should have enough to last them until December, but the doggies don't. And there is nothing to feed them otherwise. (Dates with pits~aren't readily available.)

I can't volunteer him but Jose Antonio Davila may be able to do this. He's in Loreto and will be going to SJ within the next few days to take care of some customers.

Thank you for the tip.
How do I contact him?

I've written to Jose and given him your contact info. He doesn't visit these forums often but I'm sure he'll contact you.

Thanks for what you're doing for those two ladies and their dogs.
