Anyone had this wine yet?
I noticed it at a Sams down here. Cant remember the vintage, but it appears to be 100% Cab Franc.
Not cheap, if you know what I mean. But isnt that the case will all wines from M.X. About 460 pesos.
Curious if it might be close to worth it. Havent had a good, 100% Cab Franc in many years. Havent even tried one.

I have not tried Monte Xanic Cab Franc, but I tend to drink large amounts of Monte Xanic - Limited Edition Syrah/Cabernet 2010/11. It's not a cheap
wine, but I think Monte Xanic makes some good wines.
At Costco in Tijuana a bottle of Monte Xanic - Limited Edition Syrah/Cabernet 2010/11 costs $415.00 MXN, but you may get it cheaper if you buy it
directly from the winery.
Costco in Mexico tends to carry a limited number of good Mexican Wines. Unlike Costco in the USA, they let you pay with Mastercard or Visa, but they
give you a bigger discount if you pay in cash (ie. Pesos).

We just went to Costco in Hermosillo, Sonora last week and they are now accepting our AMEX Costco card for charges. We got the cash discount price.
I did find one wine at Costco in HMO that I was very pleased with. 2011 Breca Grenache (Garnacha) from Spain. Listed on the Costco.com.mx website at
215 pesos but we paid 179 pesos. 100% grenache.
I've tried the M.X. Cab/Syrah. It's good, but not worth the price, IMO.

In my opinion, a quality bottle from Mexico would be from Vinas de Garza -Amado IV 2007 (Cabernet, Merlot, Tempranillo, Zinfandel). It's expensive,
but some Costco stores carry it as a two bottle special (Amado 1V & Colina Norte) for $1299.00 MXN.
IF it's not in a Costco store, then it's available on the Costco Mexico website.

Yes, I did and I thought the 2012 was slightly better but really so close as to be a push.
Santiago, I tell you, you should go to a Target and buy one of The Cube chardonnays they sell. It is produced by Trinchero Winery. Remarkably good for
a box wine. Better than 90% of the chards I have had below 15.00/bottle. Not a fruity butterbomb, either. Very well balanced. Very slight oak, if any.
Each box is four bottles. Lasts for four weeks, once opened. I am thinking one could smuggle down in excess of one's legal limit and customs might not
give it a second look.
They are doing it with the bullpen. Yeah, some timely hitting and good defense. But it is the pen that is winning this series, so far. It will be
interesting to see if Herrera will be able to go tonight.
I was so thoroughly impressed with that at bat by Hosmer last night, against Lopez. That was one of the best ABs I have seen in a long time. He
spoiled some great pitches against a tough lefty and then got the GW RBI on the eleventh pitch. Particularly impressed with him taking that 2-2 cutter
just off the plate.
Just a great AB.........that's post-season baseball for me.

I have tried the Cab Franc and although nice, not worth the 450+ pesos. There are many 100% Cab Franc now available under $20 dollars.
As you may know, Cab Franc was mainly used for blending to give Cabs and other 'Nobel' reds more structure mostly in the 'New World'.
Some very good wines from the ladies at 'Tres Mujeres' for around 250 pesos....

I've had the Cab Franc and while it's nice I much preferred their Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cab in French Oak). At $25 I thought it was much better
than many Napa Cabs I've tried at 2 or 3 times the price. I also enjoyed their '12 Chard.
