This is of a waterfall in the Columbia Gorge. Can't remember it's name.

Multnomah Falls, perhaps?

Sounds right.

I thought of you up there. I do remember several postings you made where you camped in that area.

BTW there were salmon spawning beneath those falls. In fact there were many falls in that area, a place worthy of more exploration. I pulled up near one and there was a pond nearby. It was a wet day but not raining. There were rings on the pond which I suspected were due to intermittent raindrops. Waiting patiently I was rewarded with the sight of a beautiful trout leaping out of the water. They were feeding everywhere.

I know what you mean. A historic highway trip full of beautiful scenes. We always find an excuse to take the Columbia Gorge trip. One of the highlights is seeing the salmon run....and trying your luck at catching them. Watching bears in Alaska taught me a few things about 'being in the right place'...so I took this opportunity at this great Bonneville Dam salmon run.

Ahem.....Pompano, that's the fish hatchery at Bonneville, and a very nice side trip for an old bear.

Your photo of Multnomah Falls is just beautiful, Skipjack Joe. You came thru Oregon at a perfect time of year!

It has been awhile but I remember those falls like it was yesterday..
Lovely image. Thaks for the reminder.

There will plenty more of that. Alex is attending OSU in Corvallis and I'm not letting go that easy. lol

There was so much fall color foliage it was just overwhelming to decide what to choose. What stands out in my mind was a home in Bend that was draped with this enormous yellow maple in full color.

The pictures I did manage to take were at a hwy pullout in the Cascades. It was raining and a real challenge to keep the lens dry. A vehicle with youngsters pulled up and asked me if we were on the right hwy to Eugene. I had no clue. By then I was completely focused on these trees and lost to everything else. Zoned out.

Happy birthday, Nena!

People create entire threads for these occasions and they've left you out. So wishing you a happy birthday (still a radiant 39).

Igor, you're becoming a Van Gogh with all those beautiful fall compositions. Fall is full of color and displays of hope for the future. (Maybe it's being politically correct?)

I couldn't get all this tree into the picture frame, so chose to select just this one part of it. It's from an Oregon trip, also.

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”
- Albert Camus

By the way, did you get over to the John Day Fossil area? So much to see...

Van Gogh?

Hardly. I see myself more along these lines ...

Jeez, Igor...if you've cut off your ear, I can recommend a good plastic surgeon.

He better be good. I have high standards. I don't want to end up like Carol Burnett.

Doesn't look like much, however one of the four versions of that painting sold a few years ago for $119 million.
