Need GPS for check point 10?

For the last several 1000 races, a group of us from the La Paz area have gone to check pt 10 to watch and cheer for the racers. I've been unable to locate the exact spot on this years Score maps and others. The Score map I'm looking at only shows the virtual CPs, however the list says Check 10 is at Mile 1252. That would be 3-4 miles before the old Check 10 we've been to in past years.

Can anyone provide us with the GPS marks for Check 10. In past years it was at 24* 01'55.10" - 110* 32'59.54" (this according to my gps at that spot). Thanks for any help.

Hello gpm414,

SCORE asked MAG-7 Pits if our crews could run a handful of their checkpoints. SCORE Checkpoint 10 will be located at MAG-7 Pit 20, which is going to be at race mile 1240.
Approximate GE coordinates are 23°56'51.88"N 110°45'6.79"W but keep in mind there could be some shifting up or down course depending on where they can find the safest open area to set up the checkpoint and the pit. Hope this helps....

Hope to get further confirmation that SCORE moved the CP. Don't see any notice on their site. Mag 7 Pit 20 looks to be pretty hard to get to from MX 1. If we can't get confirmation, may just go back to the old site of CP 10 which is easy to get to. Awaiting further input.

Looking at Google Earth of the race course if CK10 is at RM1265 the GPS is
24-04.167x110-28,436.

GPS 24-01.55x110-32.59 is between RM1262 and RM1263.

If anyone wants to use the degree symbol for GPS waypoints or temperatures, hold down the Alt key and enter 0186 on the keypad: º

To copy and paste onto Google Earth, add a minus sign - before the latitude figure for the Western hemisphere (without it, you will see a site in Asia).

Use a period . and not a comma , for decimal minutes figures.

Use a comma to separate the longitude from the latitude figures and a single space.

Here is TW's CK 10/ RM 1265 in a copy/ paste form for Google Earth, etc.:

And of course the degree symbol can simply be omitted and replaced with a space.
