Pole Line Road Maps & More Photos from Ken's trip

Until Neal, Ken, or the others reply with fresh data... Here is my notes on the route to the Pole Line Road taken from Neal Johns' notes. This is off the map attached here.

Seems the key GPS is the junction (south of Cohabuzo Jcn.) where a left turn is needed otherwise you end up at the Pai Pai village of Agua Caliente... 31-45.6'/ 115-33.5'.

Going east at this point: The next jcn. is 0.85 mi. (but a later version of this map by Neal shows 0.95mi.) is the first road south to the Pole Line Road, REACHING IT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SUMMIT ROAD FROM EL JAMAU.

Another jcn. is another 0.7 mi east, which seems the shortest route to the Pole Line Road, joining the previous road in about 6 miles.

0.9 mi. more, east of that jcn. is Arroyo de Enmedio where a return downhill from the Pole Line Road was made.

Here's a close up of the map made in 1962 for the Lower California Guidebook by Howard Gulick, showing the Pole Line Road from Portezuelo de Jamau (The Summit) to and along Arroyo Jaquejel. Hwy. 5 (Paved) is on the right side of the map.

Why was there only one Rubicon on a Rubicon Owners of California club run? "Cause they were afraid they could not keep up with Marian in a Toyota CAMPER?:P:P:P

going to check out the pole line road myself tomorrow. just got 4 days with nothing to do. so i will be checking it out if I can find insurance some where in calexico at a resonable rate. Where did everyone drive to to get gas after the trail was finished?

I talked to Junior Nomad John this morning on his cell phone as he was passing Pallm Springs on the way to do the Pole Line Road. His wife was along and they had two Jeep Cherokees and lots of gas. He will post a trip report when he gets back.:o

Nomad John made it! Trip report soon.

Did he put one Jeep in a mudhole to drive over?

Did he dump his wife for a Hot Tamale in San Felipe?

All will be revealed. :lol::lol::lol:
