Moving along south, we had lunch near Rancho La Palmita where there were dozens of grinding slicks from previous Pai Pai Indian occupation. After
lunch, we made it to the bottom of Summit race course road that the racers come down, and ignoring that steep uphill road, we went over the south
arroyo bank over a short, rough go-up. Roy Hall found the go-up before I did ? and I am supposed to be the all-seeing guide! This is where we had our
first vehicle ?temporary detained?. It was a Jeep, of course, not a Toyota. Marian had no trouble driving up it as usual. 
We got to a camp in Canyon Enmedio just before dark and a couple of guys went down canyon in the dark to see if they could find Basketball Hill (named
by me in 1980 because of the basketball sized boulders in the vee-shaped arroyo/road). My trip log from a previous trip said it was about a mile from
camp. After failing to find it in the dark, the next morning they learned to never trust a 73 year old guide. My directions (and memory) were a mile
off. Sigh. This cost us quite a bit of time and three vehicles had to leave and retrace their route because of time constraints. Sorry guys. Roy Hall
had been over the Pole Line Road before and he led us to Basketball Hill just like it was in his backyard. I have applied for a Seeing Eye dog. Marian
is applying for a younger husband. BBH GPS N 31deg 34.943min, W 115deg 26.280min
Basketball Hill seemed to be in the exact same state it was in after we spent a half hour working on it four years ago; no challenge at all. Marian
drove up the hill with no problems as did all the rest of the crew. Our first pole was seen while driving up the hill. We drove a short distance
further to Canyon Jaquegel and hiked up to the palm trees, grinding slicks, and hunting blind through a trickle of water.
So?.Who got lost? I did not so get lost. That darn hill was just spacially displaced!
So?. Who got us found? Roy Hall, that?s who!

your house is not a safe place to be!
Hope that's knot true Kneal, but I just wanted you to know we're thinking about your safety every time we hear about Lytle Creek.

The creek didn't even rise enough to roll boulders down this time! We are high and dry.
