Yesterday was a beautiful day in San Diego. We are planning on camping in Borrego in a couple of weeks and needed to scout out some camping
locations. It's been years since I hiked into Mtn. Palm Canyon to see the palm groves, so we took the opportunity to visit them again. It is located
on S2 north of Ocotillo in the Carrizo Badlands area. Two camp grounds are in the area, Bow Willow and Mtn. Palm Canyon. Both have palm groves in
adjacent canyons. Great area to spend some time.

It is. I especially liked camping in site 3, the third one on that single cul-de-sac to the right. Easy access to Bow Willow Wash, separated from the
rest of the camp, great rocks for climbing right there.
Mountain Palm Spring campground suffers from a huge amount of cholla. Not good for dogs or kids.
I do miss Anza Borrego.
Great shots, Ken!tripledigitken - 11-17-2014 at 10:06 PM
Mtn Palm CG now has toilet facilities. I agree lots of chollas, but a great view. I also like dry camping in Blair Valley too.
