What's the normal drive time between La Paz and Los Barriles?

Give yourself 90 minutes. Las Planes is faster, but the last time through, the road was pretty bad.

Thanks Parrothead- and sheesh, that is a large fish!

Beautiful drive. Remember check out local fruit stands and restaurants. Drive careful thru the windy road sections. Have fun. Tomas

Suppose it depends on what you consider "La Paz". The outskirts seem to go on forever.

stop in el triumfo and visit the café - if you are lucky they will have some of their homemade pastries!

The Piano Museum in El Triunfo.

If you stay on HW 1 it will take at least 11/2 hours, but it's a pretty drive.
If you take the Los Planes way you bypass a lot of winding road.
Been a few years, so I have no idea of road conditions.

Pitahayas (pitayas) (ripe in the Fall) are sold along the highway, near EL TRIUNFO. These are worth a taste. Mangos are the main produce in SAN
BARTOLO, along the way to LOS BARRILES.
EL TRIUNFO and SAN ANTONIO were once big silver producing sites, lots of history!
