Punta San Francisquito

Mala Bunny and I have decided to go get marooned out at San Francisquito for two nights on our moto trip this year. We skipped it last time (which we regret), and have never been out there. I have read some different things about the current state after the hurricanes this year. I have also heard varying accounts of whether the little restaurant was, err..., "reliable"?

Please don't take that the wrong way, I'm going on vague 3rd hand accounts, which is why I am asking here.

We're pretty self sufficient, we will have our camping gear, can pack our own chow in if we need to, and I'm not concerned about getting gas or anything. I'd just like to get a clearer idea of what the situation is out there. While we can pack food, I'd rather not, and of course we do need to know if cerveza is available. The important stuff right?

My information is not that current, I was there about the 18th of October. The restaurant opened up for me,(I was the only customer there) but frankly, it was disappointing. The people there were very pleasant, and trying to please, but they did not seem to be getting much support from the absentee owners at that time. I am sure some one else will provide updated info, and I hope for the best for their future on that beach.
The fish camp on Bahia San Franciscito (at the end of the runway) was up and running, and has a few campsites and showers available. I did not stay there that night, so I don't know what the rates are, or if they have meals available. I did buy some ice from them, and suppose they have cervesas for their clients and maybe for you too!
The road was in pretty good shape before the Baja 1k, I did not drive it afterward. I love that stretch of Baja!

If the 'resort' doesn't feed you, there are two motorcycle resorts to the west: Rancho Escondido and Rancho Piedra Blanca along the road to El Arco.
