Crossing North with a 5th wheel

We're heading North across the border after an extended stay here in Baja. We'll be pulling a 30' 5th wheel camper. Which is the best border crossing to use when pulling a big camper? San Ysidro, Otay, Tecate? Thanks in advance for your replies.

I hear that San Ysidro is shortest time to cross as of late. We crossed on Sunday after Thanksgiving in the PM at Tecate - 5 1/2 hours! If you do cross at Tecate, do it mid day during mid week and STAY IN THE LEFT LANE!

We have a 29 ft Class A, in it we prefer Tecate, in our car San Ysidro.
The drawback to Tecate is the road to the freeway. In many ways it is like driving in Mexico. Hilly and lots of curves.

Enjoy and be safe

I would do San Ysidro...more lanes and no 90 degree turn right before you cross. I did Tecate on Saturday with my 16' trailer and had no problems but the wait was an hour. A few weeks ago at San Ysidro with the trailer was 20 minutes. Of course it depends on the day and time you cross, but San Ysidro has been consistently short lately.
