Kindof a precarious place for these cows to be resting. I could not believe when i drove by they were not alarmed nor did
they move.

That's a nice peaceful scene on the roadway, Cabo Sur. I'm glad they stayed still for you.
Here's a contrast.
Over the years, I've seen many cattle (ganado) on the Baja Road and the ones laying down pose no great threat to traffic...on the other hand, the
moving beef is a different matter!
This is one that was galloping full out as I came up from far behind it. You don't see that very often...if at all. I wondered what made this one
run so fast and for so long in that hot desert heat? Was it a... snake?...chupacabra?...loco weed?.... a hot date?
Like your photo shows, Cabo Sur, lots of animals and livestock 'get used to' and become complacent about roadways and traffic. That experience shows
in my photo of these bison on a highway edge near Yellowstone Park. This was just north of West Yellowstone and on the Gallatin Highway, close but
not inside the park. I didn't worry too much about the mature cow, but her inexperienced calf made me very cautious. All went okay, though...and I
hope that holds true for it's future.

Cows on the highway always bring back memories of Ed Abbey... in one of his books ('Solitare' or the 'Gang') he whimsically wrote that his favorite
way of preparing range beef was ''poached''.

We may not have the cow problem in Punta Banda but there seems to always be 5 or 6 horses, and sometimes a donkey, on the side of the narrow road
between Campo La Jolla and La Buffadora.

We rounded a curve just before San Ingnacio and there was this huge white Braymer bull glaring at us and there wasn't any move in him we had to pull
around it was just at dark and those eyes were really glaring in our headlights.
