Hey boys and girls, I need to rent or borrow a 5x10 utility trailer to deliver a Polaris Ranger to Punta Chivato then bring the trailer back a week

That sounds like a lot of work! Rental sounds easier than flocking around with buying, selling, dmv title transfer, etc.
Try cabaja rental car. They advertise utilitytrailer rentals for mexico.

Whether you rent, or wind up buying a trailer, make sure it has full size tires.
I modified mine to run the same wheels and tires as the tow vehicle. That gives me two spares to use wherever needed. It also allows me to drop the

I agree buy one cheap and resale it here. Even if you don't get what you paid for it there is it's less hassles at the border with it in your name.
The cost of renting one and then hauling it back North should make up the difference. Measure the width of the Ranger. Some won't fit on a 5' trailer.
I can almost guaranty that the body will be a bit more than 5' so if the rails are too high you'll have a problem. Absolutely a good spare. The back

I did this exercise last year...
bought a utility trailer...
problem...only road-worthy trailer cost $400
bought new tires...remounted them to the Suzuki when I arrived
serviced the bearings
sold the trailer here for $100
found out...not much of a market for a utility trailer here
the deal was fine even losing money because the cost to drive it back north would be $300 each way in the truck and housing while there.
forget bringing springs and bearings...
those are here and the road is great

My Polaris Ranger 900XP is 6 feet wide and 10 feet long with stock tires, you may want to reconsider the size of trailer. JH

MUST carry with you...finding one on the side of the road does not happen in Real world of trailering...and trailer parts in the states is hard

bearings are available everywhere...geezzz you buy them at bass pro shops in the usa
springs are welded if they break...you can get those too later...I've broke several in the last few years
tires are the weakest link...light truck (lt) tires are the best...they hold the most weight
trailer tires suck
new tires are your best insurance
the road is very good these days...not too many bad spots

You're right! I don't know what I was thinking??? My trailer 6 1/2' wide for the 1" spacers. My first Ranger trailer was 6' wide and I had to remove
the side storage door to get it on and off.

I do a little buying and selling here in Yuma
don't by a 5' wide for your ATV,, the resale on them suck
6' minimum
I also agree on standard size tires,,
and I agree with the Capt,,, good tires are a must
I know from experience being broke down in Baja
its a long way baby
