I love being out there when the water has that look to it. A very special time indeed.

The sunray omen was a good tip and as I arrived at the spot, I swear I could almost hear....."The ball is now in your court."

2 amigos from Mulege also enjoyed good fishing and I took this photo...one of my favorite sunrise fishing photos.

Another time the dorado were in and we ran out of Coyote Bay to find them. We immediately got into very heavy fog at the entrance to Conception Bay..visibility was maybe 20 feet tops. Running slow and cautiously, we used my GPS and sonar to head east to where I'd heard the last sightings and catches occurred. 2 hours later we were 20 miles offshore and then suddenly in better conditions. There was a brilliant sunshine ray beaming down through heavy clouds...right onto a patch of sargasso directly ahead of us. Well, you can't ignore an omen like that for long..and we had 3 rods rigged and trolling feathers very quickly.

Bam...Bam,,,Bam. First pass alongside the patty we had 3 hookups. And after that it got REAL busy. We didn't need or want any extra fish, so we bent down the trebles on the feathers, and never kept track of how many dorado we caught and released...but it must have been dozens. Then I got hit by something much bigger. I took home this one fish from that omen in the sky...my biggest bull of the season and a real beaut! With light line and no barbs it took me 45 minutes of sheer excitement to bring him to the boat. A day I will remember forever. A lot of folks had quite a feast that night at mi casa. The great part is, my amigo, Johnny Tequila, videoed it all on my camcorder.

Moral is ...whether you believe in a higher power or not is irrelevant ....just never ignore a good tip from above.

Another gentle hint from above... on a Thanksgiving day long ago. I certainly gave my thanks for finding this magical place.
