Just wondering if there is a auto paint shop anyone could recommend in Santa Rosalia, Loreto or Mulege? Will be in Mulege for an extended trip and
sure would love to spruce up our beloved 1998 Toyota T100. But really can't remember seeing one in our travels in the area.

There is a guy who does coachwork just along from Saul Davis' tienda going towards the lighthouse. His shop/house is on the left when you get to the
curve in the road where there are a couple of houses either side of the road.
He always seems to have work going on, so he may be ok, but I don't have any personal experience.

Dunno the name, I do know it's north of the entrance to Sta. Rosalia, probably near the 1st tope....... left, uphill 2 - 3 blocks to the west, then
left again, and....... DON'T GO THERE. Saw the work, done for a local gringo full-timer who was granted 'favors' as friends of friends, on both a
boat and an old vintage Studebaker. And, as we all know....
Do me a favor, and don't do me any favors. So if you're referred to a paint shop in Sta. R. in that area, get a few more opinions. Wish I could help
with good news, but forewarned is forearmed.

actually there are several painter in town...
at the north part
near the ice house on the ice house road
across from the Pemex
I've painted a few cars...
people have dreams about their car...
they "remember" when it was "young"
sometimes its better to leave it alone...unless its several colors
you have an old truck...
paint probably wont increase the value
paint all depends on the "prep work"
in mulege they all buy the paint at the comex store
go ask there

The taller south of Mulege, across from the microwave tower, on the highway does excellent work. Get a fixed price before work begins. Tao owns the
place, but his current helper is the body man, make sure the helper knows what you want.
Creeed, the drug rehab place also does decent paint, but depends on who is in charge at the time. They are worth talking too.
Comex sells single stage paint, for 2 stage you will need to get it in Constitution or have them put it on a bus.
I don` t think the guy near Saul`s is still there.
No one has a booth in Mulege, but there is one in Loerto or Constitution, but I havent seen it.

I kind of remember the one south of town, Mulege, thought it was around Armundo, (sp) auto shop... Scotty had a couple of trucks done by the guy,, as
well as some other folks we know.. Wasn't like Earl Shyster or Maaco but looked pretty good...
good luck....
He actually sprays instead of roller and brush.... or krylon spray..

You are thinking of Tao, across from the micro tower. Armundo subs out painting to Creed.

The very best painter in the area is at Santa Rosalia and I will get you the phone number when I get back. They do all the trucks for the mine and I
have had two friends do complete restoration of antique cars. It is US Quality and better, but the card is on my desk at home and I do not have it
here. They were just north of Poncho's auto parts on the north side of Santa Rosalia but have moved to a bigger facility.

Thanks for all the info.. A good heads up. By the way, our T100 is not just an old truck it is a GREAT truck. And deserves it's blistered hood paint
to be fixed if we can. It is still used for off-road bush whacking and Baja trips but would love to spruce that hood up. Met someone at Santa Inez who
raved about their T100 on our way down this time. It has 178k and keeps on going! Had a great trip down. Stayed at the Motel 6 in San Ysidro, had been
totally redone in 2013. Much nicer then previous stay. Dog friendly, Denny's right there for early morning departure. Fairly easy border crossing,
except they looked for the vin on our ancient ALiner to no avail but let us go. Full moon, no traffic...glad to be back in Mulege.
