My odd little quad has 23 x 10 x 12 rear tires. I have found them made by only two companies in the states, and certainly find no availability in
Baja. I am concerned about getting them across the border unmounted because when I passed through customs earlier this month there was a government
pick up truck parked in the declaration lot loaded-up with a variety of car and motorcycle tires I assume were denied entry. Does anyone know the
scoop?

In Googling around I found a 2013 prohibition of importing tires new or used BY SHIPPING . There was an associated note that new tires had to have a
laboratory analysis.
How do race teams deal with this? Do acceptable tires have to be mounted on rims?

Hola vgabndo,
i know you're not anywhere near san jose or cabo but, on the road to todos santos from the main drag to cabo, (hwy 19 ? ) there is a bmw moto dealer
of which i did buy four quad tires a few years ago.
if you or someone you know is in the area, perhaps they could drop in and ask if they can order them for you.
just a thought,
BIEN SALUD, DA RAT

I just purchased and received 4 ATV tires. Did it via Rocky Mtn ATV/Moto in UT and ACV logistics. Paid 30% of the invoice to local mail place to cover
shipping. Expensive, yes, but I really needed them now.
I'd like to share what customs wrote back, this is all I can get to go on Nomads

Le informamos que las llantas para cuatrimotos no las podemos importar pues requieren de ciertos permisos para poderse importar y por el tipo de pedimento T1 simplificado que manejamos no las podemos importar.
