Mexicali

Another motorcyclist from a bike forum is asking for advice to get from the east crossing in Mexicali to Mex5, the quickest and easiest way. I seem to remember a few posts about a complicated way travelling past lots of farmers fields before finally hooking up with Mex5. He has figured out a plausible way to accomplish this without making it too complicated.

Can anyone verify if this is a plausible route?

Yep I have going this way for over 15 years and now it is signed pretty well.

That`s the way. The best part is there are only two turns, one off the border road which is marked by a big metal sculpture and a sign for San Felipe . The road twists and turns a bit but you never get off it until you turn on Mex 5. Coming back to the US it also works but everyone goes that way. If you sneak over to Novena and come in to the crossing from the eastside it can save a lot of waiting. Either way, when you turn into the border area stay ALL the way to the right if you don`t have SENTRI or ReadyPass.
