TIJ to LTO - on Aerocalafia

Fastbird - 3-7-2015 at 05:46 PM

I'm trying to get info on Aero Calafia flights from TIJ to Loreto and back to TIJ. I can't figure "it
out from their web site. Anyone have current info?
Thanks

Calafia website is down - doesn't load any schedules. I guess, on the occasion of a big national holiday - El Fin De Semana :)

God forbid flying or taking a long distance bus during some "real" holiday. This is absolute no-no in Mexico. They either won't fly/ride, or there won't be any cabbies upon landing, or something else.

Thanks for the link, at least it is in English, but it doesn't provide a schedule of flight from TJ to Loreto nor does it appear they fly from Loreto to TJ? Anyone have recent first hand experience??
Thanks

Your best bet for info is to call them. The number is on the website.

My sister recently flew Califia from Loreto to Tijuana and back. No problem. Not sure of the schedule, but I will call her tomorrow and post whatever she has as far as timetable and price.

Thanks for your effort!

Сall the airline, and be prepared to speak Espanol. Schedules change sometimes. I think they fly 1.30 pm TIJ time, twice a week.

Just tried the website. Works fine now. Just click on compra boleros and put in your dates...Thursday and Sunday only...sometimes they add a Tuesday flight.

The Calafia site is sometimes difficult to navigate, and sometimes you can't get it at all. There is a Calafia office in Loreto, however, and it is a simple matter to buy tickets there. That is what I do when family/friends are making the trip down. They will give the purchaser (me) the hard copy of the ticket and send an e-ticket to the traveler. So, if you know somebody here you may want to try that route.
I visited the office today and was advised that flights are only on Thursdays and Sundays and that times vary. My daughter is flying down in a couple of weeks and her ticket lists time of departure from TJ as 14:50 and arrival in Loreto at 17:35. The return trip leaves Loreto at 13;35 and arrives in TJ at 14:15. Or, so says the ticket. I was given different times at the office today.
The telephone number directly to the Calafia office in Loreto is (613) 135-2503.
My daughter's round trip ticket TJ/Loreto was a little over 3,000 pesos or less than $200 U S. as opposed to whatever Alaska Air may be charging these days. So, time spent negotiating the purchase of Calafia tickets is well worth your while.
Good luck.

It's actually pretty easy; I use them from May to November once a month. The trick is to not select the "English" translation on their website because that can cause problems once you try to buy your ticket. Otherwise it's very intuitive.

The flights are south on Thursday and north on Sunday. The price is about 70% less than Alaska Airlines and the airplane is a jet (AereoCalafia) vs. a turbo prob (Alaska). I haven't had a problem with the site being down. Let's hope they stay in business; otherwise the cost to fly to Loreto is a fortune.

Thanks for your input and info folks, I am slowly getting a better picture and will try calling the Loreto and or Cabo number.
Does anyone know what model jet Calafia flies and how many seats?
We are trying to get from TIJ to LTO and back in April over about a weeks time.

They fly both directions on Thursdays and Sundays, and use the jets on this route.
