In the newest satellite images, it looks like he did. All green and no square of brown in the middle.

Another old Spanish California mission site gone... I am glad I got to find and see it before it was erased to grow a few more chili peppers.

The two voters who picked "No chance"... I am curious what you see or didn't see that is different from what most saw, to say it isn't so. Perhaps actually being there helps, but I am guessing other than the farmer and a few of us crazy historians, not may have! It is just 2.8 miles from Hwy. 1, on the road to Puerto Santo Tomas/ La Bocana, up to your right.
