Good Summertime RV park in the Ensenada area on a beach?

The Estero Beach Hotel has one. And they have a nice restaurant, too.

What ware you looking for regards to beach, hook ups, close to town?

Estero Beach is quite nice. Not cheap, and the walk to the public beach is a bit of a hike (at least for a 70yr old).. The RV park has it's own pool, clean restrooms and laundry. Each site has lots of well kept grass in front and on the side. We enjoy it. It is a distance to town, would require a car or taxi.

La Jolla (Joya?) at Punta Banda is shrinking every time I visit, but still a great beach, and camping is being taken over by full-time houses now. There are still some RV compatible places, but as in most places, pilfering is on the rise, and weekends are taken over (shoreline) with Nationals in tents, boom-boxes, large families...... the usual.

The beach is wonderful; if you go out at low-tide, and to the east to about the La Jolla boundary, there are a few hot springs in the dark sands. I'm talking HOT. If you find a hot-spot, move a few feet from center, you can scoop out a wonderful hot sand/mud bath/wallow and then rinse off in the ocean. MARVELOUS.

The people who run the place are very hospitable, always courteous, a wonderful family. I've never had a problem there. Small stores and amenities close-by.

I hate to see the camping area dwindle. Another 'old haunt' going the way of the wind..........

Estero Beach = Close to town, lots of amenities, pricy

Villarinos (next to LaJolla Beach) = Used by caravans, hookups, great view, on beach

LaJolla Beach Camp (see above) = right on beach, has bathrooms/showers

If you have money to burn, try Estero

Also a couple of RV places north of town, near the Coral Hotel, no info on them

Most of the good ones have been covered. Estero Beach is the closest to town and very nice. La Jolla and Villarinos are nice. I do not like the flats when the tide goes out.

baja seasons RV park (and a similar one next to it) are just north of la salina, (the floundering marina). both are nice with big empty sandy beaches but far from both ensenada or rosarito. closer to town folks enjoy kings coronita just north of ensenada(though not a "beach" more of a marina type deal.

Next door to La Jolla campground, there is another small campground that is very quiet as compared to La Jolla itself.
I forgot the name, and they have rates that are negotiable by the week or month.
Keep in mind, that the Punta Banda area when the campground areas are, is about a 45 minute drive to downtown Ensenada because of heavy traffic.

Udo.......it's Villarinos. Some RV caravans use this on their way south and north. Nice beach, walking distance to store, and a few cafes

I believe the RV park in La Mision, is CLam Beach. Have not stayed but toured. Good size spots ,clean restroom and right on the beach. In the past they had a web site.

Udo may be talking about the one that's just before or on the east side of Campo La Joya Spelling may be wrong but I think it's Campo Mensa.

Before you get to Campo La Jolla there is PRIMITIVE beach camping at Rancho Refugio and just past La Jolla is Villarinos but there's a wall between the camping area and the beach. Campo La Jolla is the only place where you can park or set up tent right on the edge of the beach.

PS: just outside the entrance to La Jolla there's a cafe called Paty's place where several Nomads gather for coffee every morning (starting a little after 6 AM. If you decide to go there send me a U2U and we can get together fr a drink at Shark's just down the road.

I could be wrong because things may have changed, but when I was there about a year ago, I saw sewer, water and electric hookups.

You are right, J.P. There is a Campo Mensa there, but it is a primitive campsite, and I think that may be the campsite that Robert is thinking about.
