Photobucket ?

brewer - 4-5-2015 at 10:47 PM

Everyone says use photobucket to post pictures here. I registered and started an album. Maybe 30 pictures. It's been stuck at 48% for an hour now. Does anyone know how to kick it into action?

Thanks.

Use a cloud service like DropBox. No compression so quality is not reduced. You must resize before uploading for this site.
If you must use Photobucket, upload just a few pics at a time, 6 or so.

FWIW, I use flickr.com for posting photos.

Seems to be fast, reliable, simple to generate code for images.

Good luck!

I too might recommend a different service. The video ads on photobucket seem to really slow down the process.

Brewer, sounds like something has gotten hung up. I use photo bucket as well. Maybe there was just a random issue...........I usually upload 20-30-40 photos at a time, and don't have issues -- most of the time.

I use photobucket and upload multiple photos using the bulk loader with no problems. I say try again. (did you use the bulk loader?)

Thanks for all the help.

I don't think I used bulk loader.

Just please set the upload size to the Nomad limit of 800 pixels (full size) or 640 pixels (large size), as the standard setting is 1024 and distorts the Nomad page.

To set the upload size, just click on that small gear symbol in the corner of the page you get when you click the Upload button... and click SAVE. That's it!

I thought the new software was going to fix this problem?

Nope... no auto adjusting of oversized photos I have seen...?? Ask Doug.

What isn't oversized...? No photos in this thread. Any photo bigger than 800 pixels wide is oversized, no matter what your screen or your setting. Why, well because Doug is Nomad and he says so, but phyisically because the width of the Nomad frame is 800, and any photo bigger stretches the page. Those with standard monitors at standard settings will not see the entire photo or read the text on the entire page without scrolling sideways.
