We just got home from a month long trip from San Diego to Cabo and back.
The road is in very good condition with a couple exceptions.
North and South of Catavina there is rough road with a bunch of potholes but just slowdown a bit and you'll be fine. I did hit one harder than I'd
like and was very happy I had relatively new BFG AT's!
Between La Paz and Constitution there is a few mile stretch when you drive on dirt road while they replace the road.
There were approx. 5-6 military stops and all the military were very nice and respectful. I find them to be amusing and the couple times they do want
us to get out of the car we just chat for a minute and that's that.
All in all a very smooth trip, overall the road is in great condition.

I'm amazed about that highway around Catavina, simply because there have been many repaving projects over the years. I can only guess that they use
cat feces as their paving material, inasmuch as eight after the project finishes, the potholes return. Must be some kind of graft involved.

Im with you on the poor patches around Catavina. Several years of quiltwork repairs with inferior product. Job security for sure.

Not much of a constituency to court in Cataviņa area.
