A friend here in San Felipe said a friend of his just took a ferry from the mainland to baja. He said the cost was $60 for his vehicle and he didn't
need a room because the trip was only 6 hours, not the usual 16 hours.
I couldn't find anything about it on the Ferry Company page. Does anybody have any info on this?Bruce R Leech - 1-8-2005 at 09:19 PM
Thanks, that must be the one because the price is and crossing time is what I heard. And this site is in English too.bajajudy - 1-9-2005 at 01:30 PM
However it is 650 pesos per person and the vehicle is 970 pesos.
I could not tell from what i read if you must pay both, but probably so.Mexray - 1-9-2005 at 01:44 PM
Yes, you pay for your vehicle according to it's length as shown on the web site.
You then pay a separate fare for each person.
On longer voyages on larger ships, you can also pay for a cabin, which is of course an add'l fare.
We took the Guymas to Santa Rosalia run a few years back...quite an experience...don't think I'd do it again.
If you travel on one of these ships, you can't go back to your vehicle once you leave port. Take a cooler with goodies, food, drinks, etc. up on deck
with you.bajajudy - 1-9-2005 at 03:59 PM
You also have to leave any pets inside the vehicle for the duration...no walks around the poop deck.
