The road south from La Chorera

I'm interested in the road conditions going south from La Chorera (near San Quintin).

It appears the only way south is on the beach itself? Looks like for a mile or two the beach is the only navigable pass. Is this correct? If so, what's the high tide line like? Is the beach only passable on low tide?

Is a lifted truck with only 2WD good enough to pass all the way to the point?

Thanks in advance :-)

You can make it to the end of the beach with 2wd. Then you will be presented with a 50' climb up to the top of the point at which time you will turn around, tail between your legs and have to find another spot to surf! And yes, it's too far to hoof it....

Baja Gringo (Ron) lives there... he maintains a Facebook page called Talk Baja.

That 50' climb is loose sand. And last time we thought we'd hit it on a big swell there were 40 trucks waiting when we arrived.

Swear to Neptune.

Thanks for the info woody.

Is the climb up the sand dunes out at the point passable with 4WD?
