the big waves...around 10', are booming into the blowhole yesterday and today. Some sets sound like a freight train bearing down on us and it is
raining salt spray! Each wave is so different and spectacular!
Lets see what it looks like at your beach!woody with a view - 5-4-2015 at 12:11 PM
Not so impressive in SD. CaboSur - 5-4-2015 at 12:36 PM
Surfers at Costa Azul San Jose 6-10 ft swells Sunday 11amAteo - 5-4-2015 at 01:51 PM
Just got back from a spot that you need a boat to get to. Everywhere else in SD today was blown out and walled, but not this spot.
Just ate a Double Double from In-N-Out.
I didn't get any photos of the burger.chuckie - 5-4-2015 at 02:20 PM
WAY bigger than anything we have in NW Kansas.....woody with a view - 5-4-2015 at 03:41 PM
Jon, how many boats?BooJumMan - 5-4-2015 at 04:17 PM
Don't wanna know how many boats. I'm guessing a lot?? Whatever. Yeah NCSD wasn't
impressive at all. Steep angle and long period pretty much powered past us it seems. It was bigger and way better last week with no forecasted swell!
Love that. woody with a view - 5-4-2015 at 04:19 PM
# of boats times 2-3 boards each.....Tomas Tierra - 5-4-2015 at 04:51 PM
Is that all?? Shoot, nobody goes to the island anymore with less than 5... BS..
2 foot and blown out in Oxnardwoody with a view - 5-4-2015 at 04:57 PM
Tom, we're aren't going 25 miles offshore..... every 12-16 footer in town arrives at the point. it was awesome 30 years ago!Ateo - 5-4-2015 at 05:39 PM
21 people on the main spot. 5 or 6 further up the point. 2 or 3 down the point. It was freezing cold. I caught 13 waves on my 6'1" Takayama. People
had hoods and booties. Head high sets. John C. Stennis cruised by. The talent level at that spot is crap. Has it always been that way? 4-5 guys
dropping in on every peak. No communication. Out of control kooks. All in all, a great time but I'm surprised at how many people have ZERO
situational awareness of others around them.

it used to be locals only. just like everywhere else, a goon cord came with every new board and surfing came to the masses. Pompano - 5-4-2015 at 06:50 PM
Waves! Did you say Waves! We don't need no steeking waves!!
Mexitron - 5-5-2015 at 06:36 AM
Three Arch Bay was getting some of it.
vandenberg - 5-5-2015 at 07:32 AM
According to news from the Mexican Riviera, they had 16 to 20 ft waves and you could surf right into downtown Acapulco.

The waves have been huge - coming in long series - making loud noises. The pics are from the beach PAST Bocanita here in La Bocana, BCS.pappy - 5-5-2015 at 01:13 PM
steve- that shot of your old stomping grounds pretty much sums up this swell: size, but windy and crappy. not the least bit epic water temp is down as

the swell went down a foot or two today and the abalone and other fishermen are hoping to be back to work tomorrow or the day after.sargentodiaz - 5-5-2015 at 04:37 PM
Amazing that a storm thousands of miles away near New Zealand can cause this. Wonder how the low-lying islands throughout the Pacific are dealing with

most have coral reefs surrounding them which take the brunt.Skipjack Joe - 5-7-2015 at 08:51 PM

Here's a well-known spot only 30 minutes south of the border during this recent, well-publicized swell...yet only five guys are out. It's amazing how
the crowds certain people complain about magically thin out when it gets to a certain size.
