I am going to say that as a club, they wanted to present automotive adventures to their members. They made maps and guides to Baja for over 80 years

David, really like the old maps of San Felipe area. I noticed one of them shows the Sierra Pinta along the road going down there. On the way back
from the Matomi run last February I stopped and shot this photo of the Sierra Pinta landscape... a beautiful area indeed.
