Nomads have recently commented on storms, ocean temps, etc that affect fishing, surfing, and other aspects of Baja living for some.
Seems that there may be a "blob" of warm Pacific waters hunkering off the Pacific coastline from Mexico to Canada. Sounds like a horror movie from the
50's
Just saw the news where millions of lobsters have washed up on the beaches at Tijuana and Ensenada.
sargentodiaz, I'm guessing that might have been a misprint...they most likely were the the red pelagic crabs, known in some locales as
langostina..little lobsters. Hook - 5-29-2015 at 02:49 PM
It's the ***ushima Daiichi radioactive waste blob, all toasty and generating its own heat!! Run !!!!!
Or, it could be a liberal plot of some sort.........not sure which is more dangerous on this board. dtbushpilot - 5-29-2015 at 03:10 PM
I saw the report about the "lobster" washing up on the beach. Local environmentalists were throwing them back in the water to save them to no avail. I
still wonder how they would be in a crawfish boil with butter...bezzell - 6-17-2015 at 07:50 AM
Attributable to man's 'contribution' to the chemical composition of our incredibly THIN atmosphere, there will be plenty of warm blobs in the ocean to
observe in the future (and not just those seen wading in the waters off Shell Island!)
Here's an interesting piece comparing "government science" with private industry science. Warning: DK you'll want to avoid this. Or, be a little less
blissful this afternoon.

Thanks Bezzell, I added the link. Sweetwater - 6-18-2015 at 03:46 PM
Looks like even The Pope is concerned.
VATICAN CITY (AP) — In a sweeping environmental manifesto aimed at spurring concrete action, Pope Francis called Thursday for a bold cultural
revolution to correct what he described as a "structurally perverse" economic system where the rich exploit the poor, turning Earth into an "immense
pile of filth."
Francis framed climate change as an urgent moral issue in his eagerly anticipated encyclical, blaming global warming on an unfair, fossil fuel-based
industrial model that harms the poor most.
Citing Scripture, his predecessors and bishops from around the world, the pope urged people of every faith and even no faith to undergo an awakening
to save God's creation for future generations.
It's a blunt, readable booklet full of zingers that will make many conservatives and climate doubters squirm, including in the U.S. Congress, where
Francis will deliver the first-ever papal address in September. It has already put several U.S. presidential candidates on the hot seat since some
Republicans, Catholics among them, doubt the science behind global warming and have said the pope should stay out of the debate. Pompano - 6-18-2015 at 04:07 PM
I'm confused.
So NOW it's okay to root for the Pope?bezzell - 6-18-2015 at 09:33 PM
