Rick , of don chanos, won with a 26 or 28 lb dodo. Obj won the calcutta.
Basically, no dorado yet.

Well, that pretty much jives with over here. There have been a couple in the 30s and one I know about at 42.........but it has been slow for dorado. Only three weighable dorado in two days of fishing by 17 boats, in a tournament. Only one tuna. About 50 billfish caught.

I love the stories and misinformation. The dorado tournament was pretty much a success. Several big dorado were caught. John Dinning did really well on the Calcutta with a big win as well as the jackpot. His boat also caught a 70+ Wahoo which was a really beautiful fish. While not wide open, there were some really respectable dorado caught and several really nice yellowtail.
Richard should have won the calcutta and 2st place but he just did not connect with a dorado the second day out. The first day he sat on a patty for almost 3 hours before the fish finally took a chunk bait of skipjack. If he had just lucked out with another on Fri or Sat, he would have hit it big.
Great group, we played music till everyone was falling asleep. Heard a few rumors that some fishermen actually jumped in the pool at Serinidad during the pig roast with their clothes on. Such behavior for grownups.
Bill Ochs and Kevin Clough really did a bang up job organizing and setting up the tournament and are to be congratulated for their hard work.

Well, I'm stickin' to MY tournament yarn.

The two 30 lbers and the 42 lber were not part of our tournament over here. They were caught in the five days prior to the tournament.

Biggest "other fish was a 30ish lb Wahoo. caught by Stu.....

Chuckie, I believe it was 30+ kilos and it was on the Mi Mujer.

I talked to Bill Ochs, this morning..an after action report should be out today and then we can all stop guessing....

Pescador - 6-3-2015 at 07:51 AM

Chuckie, fishermen never guess, you know that from experience. We only report accurate weights. Turns out the Wahoo was 33 pounds and the guy that told me 33 kilos was joking. I was so busy setting up the sound system, that I did not look at the board and verify. Since we have such a picky bunch here, I will post official results tomorrow and then everyone will be happy.

Any wahoo in May is a good wahoo. Congrats.
