Anyone talked with Coco lately?

John M - 6-7-2015 at 10:05 AM

We hope to stop at Coco's next weekend. Anyone have recent conversation or knowledge if there is anything special he may need?

I think the most recent we've seen on Nomad is that he wasn't home.

Spent about 4 hours with him on may 14th. We were on bikes so the only help we could give was buying beers. He didn't mention anything special he was needing.

The last two times I've spoken with him (both times I was on a moto and unable to provide assistance) he needed rolls of electrical wire.

14-2 Romex

Is this the wire he's been using that gets stolen from time to time due to being copper? Does someone know what he uses it for and it there is something else to be substituted that isn't such a target for thieves? Is 250' a decent amount? Home Depot shows it for $41 (quite inexpensive compared to other places)

I have no specific info on his requirements, but my hunch would be that his requirements are very flexible. I'm sure that 14-2 Romex would light-up his eyes.

I believe he is using it for lighting and to run power from the generator out to the camper(s).

non-metallic

I've found "non-metallic" at Lowes also...good for his needs?

Sounds to me he needs some game cameras to photo the thieves

Copper prices have been down over the last two years, its not a bad time to buy Romex and update to a three wire grounded system.
It's not a good thing to see how wrong it can go when you become the best ground in your ungrounded system :o

He can't get enough solar lights either..

Friends of mine saw him two weeks ago on their way North, but he didn't say he needed any specific item. He always needs cat food and he likes canned food for himself. I am sure he will appreciate anything you bring him..

The ground bond is only as good as the earth. In his location probably 3-10' stacked ground rods might get the ohms to a decent level
