Using the instructions on this site I have started the process leading to Permanent Resident status. I will post my successes/failures.

Do not forget the new FMM at the border with the CANJE checked off. This must be turned in to the INM office doing your paperwork, before 30 days are
up.
With the CANJE checked off, the FMM will be no charge.
