Your best best for short term (somewhat reliable) internet is getting a MIFI router. It's rechargable using any cig light plug or you can plug it
into a wall/generator outlet.

You could buy your neighbors a booster router, 50 bucks for one with 2 , 6''external antennas, which would boost their signal, then just share the

we did this last spring with a $40 netgear unit that plugs in to an outlet and makes your house wiring like an antenna... worked very well picked up
the signal from a router about 100' away with the owners permission very few slowdowns for us.... he has telmex internet...
actually also used this in our fifth wheel in RV parks last summer made us a wifi hotspot but were able to password secure also... big help

@mtnpop - Do you happen to have the model number of this Netgear device? I have a T-Mobile phone here in the Boston suburbs, and typically get zero to
one bar. I can only make calls reliably via WiFi, which means that I have to hover in close proximity to my router. some sort of booster or repeater

you can get at Best Buy or from Amazon...
ours is wn1000 although there are several on Amazon that you might want to look at...

Thanks for the quick reply! What I found on Amazon when looking for Netgear WN1000 was a N150 Wi-Fi Range Extender, which seems to be exactly what I'm
looking for. Our home is a 19th Century boarding house with lots of little rooms. While it's quaint and cozy, it makes for plenty of 21st century WiFi
dead zones. Hopefully this device will improve things.
