Donnald Trump and the Pinatas

wiltonh - 6-26-2015 at 02:15 PM

It appears that Mexican's are not too fond of Donald trump.

SFandH - 6-26-2015 at 02:33 PM

A Trump pinata. He's really helping his party get the hispanic vote. He's also suing Univision to help out even more.

chuckie - 6-26-2015 at 04:03 PM

Who is?

StuckSucks - 6-26-2015 at 04:28 PM

I think his hair looks good here:

Bajahowodd - 6-26-2015 at 04:58 PM

He got his money from a very wealthy father, then proceeded to go bankrupt several times. He's a charlatan and not a good businessman. Just a self-indulgent fool. A president of the US? Never gonna happen. He will flame out early in the primary season, just because he is a self-indulgent fool.

If anything, his nasty am inflammatory words about Mexicans is just going to help the democrats.

SFandH - 6-26-2015 at 05:05 PM

It's really too bad what he said about Mexicans and how he would build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it. It made headlines in Mexico. I hope the average Mexican knows he's not a typical American. But I fear not. What an embarrassment.

Osprey - 6-26-2015 at 05:14 PM

You guys are off base here. He didn't inherit money, he earned it picking strawberries in the Imperial Valley. His parents were part Mexican/Indian/Black so when he plays that card it will be like The Big Reveal. The only thing I fear is that he will sell the White House or worse, time share (oh that's been done), (oh, both) (oh, my)

vandenberg - 6-26-2015 at 05:26 PM

Latest.
The Univision people are not allowed on his Florida golf course.
Talk about an A one idiot.

BornFisher - 6-26-2015 at 08:23 PM

I just bought an Obama pinata!! Or actually I should say another one. Sooooooooooo much fun for the kiddies!!!!

bajabuddha - 6-26-2015 at 09:25 PM

I just bought a BornFisher piñata........ smacked the fluck out of it, but.......... no guts. Nothing. Some people put out at least a little for their country, and some....... just air.

Cliffy - 6-27-2015 at 05:43 AM

The Donald may turn out to be the spoiler in the group as a significant
number of voters turn toward 'Independent" status. Independents have grown to over 40% of the voting public indicating a growing lack of interest in the other 2 parties over a relatively short period of time.
They may be looking for an outsider willing to really shake things up in the political world.
Now, then again, he may step on his dripper all by himself and blow himself out of the race. Time will tell.

elgatoloco - 6-27-2015 at 10:10 AM

I really really hope that he polls in the top time come debate time. That would actually make me DVR the Faux and watch. Who doesn't love a train wreck, especially with a clown car involved.

Trump/Hastert 2016!

bezzell - 6-27-2015 at 05:01 PM

Trump will pull out (like norte's momma's brother shoulda!) right when the financial scrutiny starts getting real close to home.

Actually I have. My comment was a reply to Bajaboy's question, it has nothing to do with bigots or last week nor does it have anything to do with my political affiliation. I think the republican party will get their biggest boost from Obama and Hillary, that's what I think. Time will tell...

Stick a fork in the GOP for the next 9 years. Guaranteed.
(and maybe familiarise yaself with the concept of 'sidenote' (?))

Ateo - 6-28-2015 at 09:48 AM

Surely no one here think that Trump is seriously running. He's an attention hoar.

I'm off topic and going out on a limb here, but I see a changing America, demographically and socially speaking. This isn't 1980. This is 2015. Much has changed. I don't see a Republican winning in 2016. In fact, I have $100 that says I'm right. Any takers?:biggrin:

pauldavidmena - 6-28-2015 at 09:57 AM

Donald Trump and the Piñatas would be an excellent band name.

You may be right, the republican party has a knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, they are their own worse enemy. America is certainly changing, I have to think that more than a few democrats have to be concerned about having all their eggs in Hillary's basket. Time will tell, I think I'll pass on the bet but it is tempting....

bajabuddha - 6-28-2015 at 02:50 PM

No bets from me whatsoever, Ateo. In fact, I envision quite a landslide rout with the current chaos in the ranks of the self-righteous.

I'm wondering if it would be constitutionally legal for Bill to run as VP under Hillary?

I find it interesting that the loudest mud slinging always comes
from one side of the isle.

Let's see- the "oppressed people" have been voting Democratic for what 60 years or more and they are still "the oppressed". How's that working out for ya?

Question for the day- What political party passed the "Equal Rights Amendment"?

Trick question! The Equal Rights Amendment has yet to be ratified.

Cliffy - 6-29-2015 at 08:35 AM

Yes and it goes as far back as Elenore Roosevelt who was against it.
Neither party, Repubs or DEMs is in the front trying to pass it so both sides of the isle are about as good or bad as the other on most issues!
That's why the "Independents" have grown to 40% or more of the voting public. People are tired of BOTH parties and their lies and inaction. Gee, I wonder why Trump is moving up in the polls?
Anything may be better than what we've had for the last 50 years.
I will say that this is the first election for me where party affiliation will have no bearing on my vote. I am REALLY listening to everyone before I form an opinion on who is the best candidate.
Even Bernie Sanders has some good points!

BajaLuna - 6-29-2015 at 12:37 PM

Sarah Palin just got canned from Faux News! Who didn't see that coming!

The Repubs seem to think by alienating everyone they'll win? WTH?

Let's see so far (like last election too) they are managing to lose most of the female vote (just put an aspirin between your legs, women shouldn't be making the same wages as men etc etc), and the Hispanic Vote, and the gay vote... And their own base isn't big enough anymore. These people are comical!

They shoot their own selves in the foot every time, but I love to listen to them talking, it's quite entertaining! Can't wait for the debates, these guys are clowns, and are these the only possibilities they have? What a joke! The party has been high-jacked by extremists, good luck with that!

Trump is an egotistical narcissist! Woohoo look at me, look how rich I am, he's nauseating, it's all about him and power! He never misses a chance to stroke his own ego! Oh and he believes in traditional marriage, LOL!

if this is all they got, they are in deep doo-doo!

Ateo - 6-29-2015 at 01:03 PM

And Trump's Miss America just got dropped from NBCm as did his appearance on The Apprentice. Bad choice of words yields economic consequences for him.

I hope you are right, Luna! Don't forget though that a majority of them won the Senate and The House.

You are using logic and deducing a logical outcome. That is not how they think or vote. Unless one is among the 1% there is absolutely no reason to vote Republican. They just identify with what they hear on Fox and Rush Limbaugh and within their own limited circle of like minded friends. I watch, listen, read them and even hang out with them so that I can know what they think. I hear their biases and lots of racism. They all deny it if you bring that up, but nevertheless, they spew that hate around their own circles.

One of the main things in which they identify, and brag about, is wealth. That is their model of success. And yet most of them are just as poor in this economy as the rest of our diminished middle class and poor.

Their ideology is based on fear and ignorance. They vote against their own self interests. The Republican Party (now Tea Partyers) serve no purpose other than to get rid of the Federal Government and its programs. Again, it serves no one other than the 1%ers.

They lack the necessary cognitive skills to reason out what is good for them and what is good for the country. Most (not all) lack much education and intelligence. Try arguing, reasoning or better yet, debating any of them here on this forum. You can't because the are not articulate or organized in their logic. They cannot support their positions. Their only weapon is name calling and nastiness.

They are vulnerable to, highly influenced, and masterly manipulated by the Right Wing Press. Just fact check what Fox's commentators (entertainers) claim as truth. Now do that with MSNBC, NPR or PBS. "Can you handle the truth?" :O

SFandH - 6-29-2015 at 02:09 PM

I wonder how many normally Democrat votes Jeb Bush will get because his wife is Mexican. I suppose that could work against him too somewhat.

This is the way to do it, go after Trumps's sponsors for the Miss USA and Miss Universe, beauty pageants. But it looks like NBC is on top of this, and has cut ties with Trump, after hearing from the Latino civil rights and advocacy groups.

From here on out, any TV show that is connected to Donald Trump, are going to be pressured from the Latino groups that are going to talk to the show's sponsors.

What was Trump thinking? Maybe, he thinks he is rich already, and doesn't need anymore money, but those bigoted hateful statements he made towards Mexican immigrants, is going to cost him millions of dollars.

Money is the only thing nut-jobs like Trump understands, and so it's great he is going to get hurt in the pocketbook.

NBC dumps Donald Trump for making derogatory comments about immigrants

CUniversal delivered a message to Donald Trump over his recent remarks regarding immigrants: "You're fired."

In a statement issued Monday, the company said it is severing ties with the real estate mogul and reality TV star who is pursuing the 2016 Republican nomination for president. He will no longer be a part of the reality competition "Celebrity Apprentice" and his two beauty pageants, Miss USA and Miss Universe, will no longer air on NBC.

"At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values," the statement said. "Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump."

I have to wonder how many hotel workers and other support crew that he has, that have Mexican ancestry?

They may cause him a lot of issue also.

http://gawker.com/a-comprehensive-list-of-everyone-trying-to...

bajabuddha - 7-1-2015 at 11:13 PM

This is a conspiracy-anti-conspiracy - conspiracy:
The "Party" has always been known for the ol' "3-card monty on the boulevard" ploy.

Anyone remember James Watt, and how he was put out as a sacrificial vote and a total idiot to dissuade and distract common sense thinking from the 'normal' people of America? One more further back to take away the attention from what was really happening in Southeast Asia, circa late '60's than Spiro Agnew?

Yes, The Donald is a MOE-RON. Yes, The Donald is toast, he's done, he's completely destroyed himself personally, he's come before he's exited; but most of the "right'' thinking people believe he's TOO rich, he's too powerful, and back him for his Bully Power. He's just a pawn, and the true money that backs this horse race makes him look like a stable-boy. Just remember that part. They're all just pawns, and anyone who could look so completely inept out of the gate and garner the #2 position HAS to be a ringer of some kind.

Seriously, think about it.

Is the Donald having FUN ?

The money thing is incidental for those who have enough of it.

I'm reminded of the NFL vs. AFL days when Lamar Hunt was subsidizing the league and the weaker teams to stay in the fight.

His father (H.L. Hunt) was asked "How LONG can your son keep this up. It's costing him a Million dollars a year" ?

"Well, in about a hundred years, he 'could' be in trouble" !

I was just responding to Bajaboy's comment "Just goes to show how f'd up the party is....wouldn't want to upset the racist arm of the party before the debates now"

Those polls were taken by CNN/ORC among 500 LIKELY GOP voters. Did those 500 represent the entire national GOP? No! In fact who said they were even registered Republicans? They did! Did CNN check their credentials? No! So if Trump is second to Ben Carson in populartity in those states does that mean the GOP is flocked up and racist? No!

Trump’s rise has been on a parallel track with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders’s second-place rise in the Democratic presidential contest. In Democratic polls Sanders has support around 35 percent. But in a diffused Republican field, Trump can nab second place with just 11 percent support.

Nothing to do with the GOP???? Sure it does. Republicans are the ones being polled. All the candidates care about what Iowa and New Hampshire think. If they do well in these early contests more money comes rolling in to their campaign better enabling them to carry on.

Polls are so marginal in so many cases --- just ask Karl Rove --- they made his head spin.

You are correct, it is a very diffused Republican field which makes the results even less reliable.

Then again, I find it amazing that ANYONE supports Trump. As one of my Republican friends said in a political e-mail exchange, don't even bring up Trump as he is simply an embarrassment to everyone!

If he gets into the debates, that will be very interesting.

I've always wondered how pollsters can claim their polls are accurate while using small samples, but they make the claim the results are indicative of general sentiment. I don't under the statistical math behind it all.

The other candidates are speaking up, probably after consulting their statisticians. ;)

It's telling when none of the other candidates have blasted Trump for his his comments.

Indignant Jeb Bush Says He Takes Donald Trump’s Remarks Personally

"Jeb Bush, whose wife is Mexican and three children were raised to celebrate their bicultural roots, showed a flash of anger on Saturday as he said that he “absolutely” took personal offense when Donald Trump recently described Mexican immigrants coming to the United States as “rapists” and criminals.'

“To make these extraordinarily ugly kind of comments is not reflective of the Republican Party,” Mr. Bush said

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2015/07/04/an-an...

and Marco Rubio

"Trump’s comments are not just offensive and inaccurate, but also divisive."

Thanks for posting those. I'm still at a loss why there is not more push back by the party/media. Trump's comments are way out of line.

Some are missing a point:

Trump is the best thing that has ever happened for immigration rights activists. He shines a big light on their case to their advantage.
They should be thanking him, and I'm sure they are, but quietly.

Complicated political calculus and maybe because of Reagan's 11th Commandment:

"Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican."

Playing the Trump Card

MrBillM - 7-5-2015 at 03:00 PM

Maybe the polls simply reflect voter opinion that he's fun to have around throwing bombs and making things interesting.

Who'd want him to drop from the Top Ten and miss the first Debate ?

Trump's having a Good Time and he can afford it. The public is having a Good Time expressing their indignity and thinking it means something.

Win - Win for ALL.

BTW, anyone who feels "embarassed" by Trump's comments and worries about what ANY foreigner might think of them is ...........................easily embarassed.

They must go through life sporting a constant Blush.

Don't let the trolls take over the thread and pollute it, because they are embarrassed by one of their own in the GOP party, Donald Trump, who is playing the race card, and has recently doubled down on his racism and bigotry against Mexicans immigrants. Latinos everywhere are insulted by Donald Trump's openly bigotry against Mexican immigrants.

Durrellrobert wonders if polls are accurate. Polls are indeed accurate with a small margin of error. ( you only say you don't believe in polls when you're behind)

Donald Trump is not stupid, he would not have said what he did about Mexican immigrants, if he didn't think there would be a pay off, and he sure hit pay dirt, with a second place finish in two states according to at least one poll.

This speaks volumes not only about Donald Trump, but the GOP party, who might not be as vocal as Donald Trump with their bigotry, but they seem to support him with strong poll numbers, and their silence over this issue.

Hispanic leaders want to GOP to condemn Trump's bigoty! What are they waiting for?

Is the RNC/GOP too scare to condemn Trump, because the right-wing conservatives more or less agrees with Trump?

With the exception of Jeb Bush, and Marco Rubio, both with Latino ties, they're the only republicans who have spoken out strongly against Donald Trump's bigotry.

I wonder how much Trump's Great Wall of America would cost and how he would convince Mexico to pay for it. Anybody heard?

The border is about 2000 miles long.

Yeah....Chuckie was mightily disappointed when we couldn't meet up in Mulege last winter as I had promised him a beer...

So he tries to get a rise out of me from time to time....generally with some humour (low brow as it is ;D ) behind his comments.

My meds are working so I have let go of that urge to hunt him down in whatever state he is scrounging around these days (some recent crap about wheat in Colorado.....he is probably confusing grain with "green" in that state.....)
