This is the time of year when this area is swarming with tourists. While it is not unusual to have afternoon showers in part of the high country, we
have had more down here in the valley than usual. They don't last long and many of them just threaten, spit about 10 drops and then move on, but this
activity has made for a lot more humidity and some beautiful storm skies over the White Mountains. We feel like we are on vacation all the time we
are home.
Taken from the edge of 395 while trying not to be run over! :-)
And now I know where that pot of gold is hiding!

Beautiful! That aughta narrow it down some.DianaT - 7-7-2015 at 04:32 PM
Thanks. We keep smelling a lot more rain than we are getting!
Roger --- nice rainbow. I am wondering, however, at which end is the pot of gold or is it split. Mexitron - 7-8-2015 at 08:43 AM

Is that near Bishop? beautiful picBajaBlanca - 7-8-2015 at 02:24 PM
Love the rainbows!
where we are in Poland - the northeast corner - has the craziest weather I have ever been in. One minute there are clouds, then there is blue sky,
then all of a sudden it pours. (pic below). And most people don't run for cover when it rains. They just walk, children, moms with babies, it
doesn't phase them at all!
An hour after this pic was taken, the sun was out and we had a BBQ. It wasn't sunny but it was just perfect for kielbasa!

Thanks for the nice comments.
Blanca, that is crazy, but at least it keeps it interesting!
ehall --- all three are south of Bishop --- the Rainbow is a couple miles north of Big Pine. In fact, in is the first canyon just north of where the
satellite radio towers are located.
But if anyone whats to try to get that pot of gold, we have been told the pot of gold is only there when the rainbow is active. After that, it turns
to dust that hides in space and only comes together when another rainbow is active. ehall - 7-8-2015 at 08:05 PM

Diane,
Great captures, love dark skies with sun! Will think of you guys when I ride by next week. Hope to maybe hook up with you two on the return leg.

Monoloco, thanks. The second one is my favorite.
Thanks Ken! If we are not in Alaska, we would love to see you! Lots of weird weather this year up here.
Took a couple with the dark and light yesterday above Horseshoe Lake that I will post a bit later --- hope you like them--- I find them rather eerie.

Thanks Ken! If we are not in Alaska, we would love to see you! ..........
Diane,
We'll be in Hyder, AK 7/22-7/24. Look for a group of 4 M/C's at the Glacier Inn getting "Hyderized". Email me if you're planning on being there
then.

Veterans of getting Hyderized. The little town is worth the trip, as is Salmon Glacier nearby. Crazy fun going back and forth thru Canadian and US
customs, too.
