We will be pulling a trailer and have two dogs so won't be trying to break the speed record but would love to buddy up as I hear it's much safer. This

Have driven this road dozens of times and never have ever felt unsafe.
Just don't drive after dark and take normal precautions. It's probably safer than driving anywhere in the US. Don't forget that it's only 2 lanes and
drive accordingly.

OK, let us know - we'll be picking up our Bahia Asuncion neighbor in SD the morning of the 26th and crossing. We MAY end up going over to the Cortez
side for the drive south, spending the night in San Felipe.
