Timing can be everything in publishing a Baja book!
In 1970, James T. Crow produced the Baja Handbook to help answer the needs of off highway travel in Baja California. Three years later, 800 dirt miles
became paved highway. That required a slight title modification so the book could remain current.
The first edition featured a fun bit of artwork by cartoonist Dave Deal... zipping by 'Rancho No Tengo' on the road to La Paz!
A fun tidbit of information... Dave's home had a Rancho No Tengo sign at the start of his driveway. It turns out, that was there from the previous
owner and he just continued to use it in several of his off road theme cartoons.
