Going down there in a month, and here is what I hear:
They don't want to work.
Any travel trailer, utility trailer, boat with TIP already in place - they turn you around and send to Otay.
Any heavily loaded car - go to Otay.
What's going on - X-ray machine broke down, or they are at war with Otay office and making them work harder? At Otay, reportedly, there is business as

There are always lots of stories. We crossed this morning at 10:00AM. Lots of cars, we have a truck with a shell on the back and we were loaded, did
not get pulled into secondary. They did not ask for our Mexican Visa or Immigrante. Very smooth. Had a boat and truck right beside me and they did

I have gone through SY three times with an ATV on a utility trailer with no problems. Yes, they pulled me into secondary, but I showed registrations
on both and I was on my way.
Are you saying I am rolling the dice when I go through SY??

I crossed @ Otay this morning @ 9:30 a.m. and the guy that normally sits on a high chair on the entrance divider wasn't even there!

Crossed last Wed. at ST with a packed SUV pulling a camp trailer. No secondary, but they did stop us and looked inside and stuck their head in the

I crossed at SY last Tuesday in my sedan. No red/green lights working but was directed to secondary. A smiling young lady official immediately came to
my car, asked to look into the trunk, looked and said OK. Maybe added a minute to the crossing.
No big deal. But from talking with friends that cross regularly it does seem that they are using secondary inspection more frequently.

6 more days and we'll get the once over! should be interesting as my lease partner and i bring a bunch of stuffs to get our spot up and running. not

Anyone who says "they don't want to work" probably has a bad attitude or some kind of hidden agenda. People with bad attitudes manage to find trouble
everywhere they go.

I crossed southbound at Tijuana with my trailer last month. They wanted to do the X-ray scan, which was fine. Both agents who were there were very

When it comes to crossing the border, if you have your permits and all other papers you should be good to go. I didn't encounter any issues the last
time I crossed into Mexico
