LINDA...lets hope she behaves! Local Weather Reports

shari - 9-7-2015 at 07:35 AM

Linda looks a bit scattered and lets hope she doesnt get it together...but she is a big girl and may have a mind of her own. Luckily the models say she will stay away from the coast but like Juan says...never trust a hurricane! So be on guard amigos...tis the season!

Lets hear some reports on Lindas effects as she dances up our way. Rain is forcasted here on the central coast for late today and tomorrow so road reports would be sweet. Glad I did laundry yesterday!

Shari, I had a girlfriend named Linda....she NEVER behaved!

Udo - 9-7-2015 at 09:32 AM

Let's hope Tomas finishes our roof before Linda hits.

Hook - 9-7-2015 at 09:50 AM

".....but like Juan says...never trust a hurricane!" ???

I think I heard that one a little differently. But the name Linda was involved.

Expected to become a Cat III within 24-48 hours.

Hericane?

shari - 9-7-2015 at 10:32 AM

tentatively tittering nervously at the moment. One looks at the cone on the models and thinks...OK, not too bad...but when you see those red blobs moving up, ones confidence begins to waver.....we lost internet for a bit and I did sweat it a bit...back on now and sure hope it stays on so we can see what way she spins.

CaboSur - 9-7-2015 at 11:56 AM

Linda's behaving rather nicely at the moment
Intermittent moderate rain showers here in San Jose. Light winds looks like more rain on the way!

Bill Collector - 9-8-2015 at 07:14 AM

Shari, we had rain for about a hour this morning East Cape/Buena Vista. Now we've got flat seas, no wind, no rain. Boats went out fishing

Overcast here in Loreto with light winds but no rain yet.

This forecast from yesterday has the storm hitting the peninsula. Every other forecast I've seen has it moving northwest.

San Jose del Cabo 10:30am

We've had intermittent showers all morning no more than 1/4" of rain at the most. Winds have picked up to about 15-20mph.

Enjoying the cloudy skies with the temp hovering around 81

SFandH - 9-8-2015 at 11:16 AM

She's a Category 3

http://www.weather.com/storms/hurricane/news/tropical-depres...

"Hurricane Linda rapidly strengthened for the second time in its existence on Tuesday morning. Maximum sustained winds increased from 90 mph at 5 a.m. EDT to 120 mph at 11 a.m. EDT. This makes Linda a Category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.

Linda will continue to track northwest, remaining well off Mexico's Baja peninsula while weakening the next couple of days."

willyAirstream - 9-8-2015 at 11:34 AM

Mulege 87 degrees, 87 humidity! Heavy rains for only an hour, clouds are moving out now. Blue skies

Udo - 9-8-2015 at 12:07 PM

That second graphic on the lower right hand corner would be nice if it becomes reality.

shari - 9-8-2015 at 12:29 PM

It is 96 degrees here in Asuncion...65% humidity...no rain, light breeze from the east off the desert making it so hot...off for a swim and hoping for rain but it is partly sunny here....very cool image indeed Willy

Osprey - 9-8-2015 at 02:03 PM

Here in Alta California (San Diego Region) we have hot weather 92ºF, 10 miles from the coast, and big thunderclouds building up to the east... lightning cracks heard on AM radio at noon today.

cabo-ash - 9-8-2015 at 02:23 PM

Strong winds and heavy rain on and off since last night here in Cabo - looks to be easing up a bit now so may make a dash for it and take the dog out for a walk.

pauldavidmena - 9-8-2015 at 03:26 PM

It got up to 97 here in Cochituate today. My Boston Beans are Baked!

vandenberg - 9-8-2015 at 04:22 PM

Clearing up here in Loreto. Probably had about one inch of rain and at 3.20 this afternoon a little shaker to go with it.

Ateo - 9-8-2015 at 04:27 PM

bajajudy - 9-9-2015 at 07:15 AM

Woke up to rain but looks like it is clearing. Wonderful rain event here.

shari - 9-9-2015 at 07:57 AM

We got no rain or wind in Asuncion last night and it did sprinkle for a few minutes this morning. The swell is about 12' looks like so far with a breeze from the SE.

The arroyo was running between Asuncion and Vizcaino last night but might be clear now. The estero is filling up again at the edge of town with the big swell...waves are up to the town bank now.

Your weather reports are very helpful. Along with the various webcams they give a good picture of what is going on in Baja.

Bob and Susan - 9-9-2015 at 08:25 AM

Power out in Abreojos for about 4 hours last night....very hot.

shari - 9-9-2015 at 11:37 AM

I am happy & relieved to report that Linda was pretty sweet here in Bahia Asuncion. We had a half hour of light rain and maybe gusts to 20 knots and looks like about a 12-14' sw
Here I am having coffee with Linda this morning

the new stairs to the beach are still standing

it rained last night just out of town but not here at the point....no baseball today.

Here she is at La Bufadora

David K - 9-9-2015 at 04:15 PM

Thanks!
100ºF today here and big clouds have blocked the sun this afternoon... North San Diego, 10 miles from coast.

wessongroup - 9-9-2015 at 04:18 PM

Getting a little "spitting" ... clouds moved in ... also lowered the temp from 100º in the shade down to 92º .... with a little thunder

Nice change ... :):)

[Edited on 9-9-2015 by wessongroup]

just started raining ... even cooler

Archie - 9-9-2015 at 04:35 PM

Here in GN started a light drizzle about noon, then some rain that filled the potholes leaving some beautiful puddles. Then some more rain and wind, nothing too heavy.... At 5 pm still passing big fat gray clouds with patches of blue here and there.

Hot and humid. Power and telephone are ok, internet slow (as usual).

chivatojoe - 9-9-2015 at 05:31 PM

Wind picked up around noon shaking the planes in their tie downs. Only 1 drop of rain but temps dropped from 104 to 92. Hotter here than in Chivato

BajaBlanca - 9-10-2015 at 12:17 AM

La Bocana was boiling today. Thank goodness Les had an A/C installed and the solar power can handle it ....

The schools are even installing air conditioners in the classrooms. That is one way to keep kids happy!

It so rarely gets this hot here .... we are wimps.

shari - 9-10-2015 at 07:09 AM

I am very happy Linda was so polite...even my plants survived this time! We are seeing sun, a very confused ocean and 25 knots of wind this morning in Asuncion from Lindas tail end...waving as she dances out to sea....now for some cooler weather for a few days!
