Baja Themed Decor Suggestions

bkman211 - 9-24-2015 at 09:21 PM

Moved into a new home office and looking to give it a nice Baja theme to help me forget I am stuck at work! Looking for suggestions on wall art and other decor/accessories to bring Baja home. Also suggestions on where to purchase items would help… who sells those nice framed maps? I am flying to Cabo next week so will try and pick up a few things there and then plan to make a trip down to Tecate in the truck to haul back some larger items.

If you want that small town baja feeling, just cover the floor with silt, moon dust.

How about one blue wall and some cactus?

Popotla

Hit the free road between Rosarito and Popotla. If you can't find anything there, they don't make or import it

Maybe start with a big map of Baja and work out from there. [ohh...you mentioned that]
Is Capt. Mike still selling giant maps? Maybe someone here knows?

Hey...Terry...still want that negative digitalizer? Lemme know before it gets in my way.

Capt. Mike's map is huge, covers most of a wall, like wall paper....

Then there are the Mike McMahan Baja wall maps that are 3 ft. by 5 ft., and Discover Baja Travel Club sells them...

Corona or Dos Equis floor model ice chest, and a Corona metal table and chair set. . Store all your fishing rods and surfboards in the corner!

Don't forget to keep irregular hours and siestas.

You need a paper bag lined waste basket next to the toilet for T.P.

Coarse thin paper would be a finishing touch!

Empty Tecate cans lining your driveway like reflectors

Maybe a little off topic, but some here may relate:

If you own a restaurant, never bring the check at the end of a meal. Make your customers ask for it!
:light:

Tell someone you will be there at noon, and arrive at 2 pm acting like you're early!
:light:

Keep the toilet paper holder empty!
:light:

In La Paz, coming to a full stop at stop signs, on side streets, could get you rear-ended!

David-
You pointed out some of my favorite things in Mexico.
Mexicans are some of the best at reminding you to not sweat the small stuff.

A few 16x20 framed photos of your favorite places. A terra cotta planter with cactus. A corner with a beach chair and umbrella. A Mex. 1 highway sign. a Curva Peligrosa road sign. A pinata, sombrero, pacifico 6-pack of empty bottles.

Definitely one of these, although nabbing one might be a challenge.

Paying attention to exterior decor is also a must....

Motoged-
That is one heck of a condo... Is that where they were just discussing the problem with HOA fee collections?

At my house in San Felipe I have 4 original Porcelain table tops hung on the wall like large wall hangings. Tecate, Dos X Victoria and Carta Blanca

They look really great

Tioloco - 9-28-2015 at 04:02 PM

Those sound pretty cool, Cortez

Get 2 dogs:

One that just lays around all the time to trip over.

Another one that barks all night long.

Been there/done that!
Two years ago. Downtown La Paz. (with a motorcycle cop as a witness).
