visiting my girlfriend I'm always beggin' to eat there.

The deer mount photo that I posted is located at Husongs Cantina! NOW YOU REMEMBER huh? I have a photo somewhere that I took several years ago where
someone had wedged a "joint" in the deer's mouth.... it did look pretty funny though.

I was in SANTA ROSALIA a couple of years ago ..... and stopped at that bakery to buy some BOLEOS ... before I left ... I was peeking around the
corner into the back and told one of the workers that I worked for a bread company in the states several years ago ..... He gave me the tour of where
they were making all of the different types of bread ...
showed me the
four ovens that they use to bake the bread..... he even opened up one up and removed a load of BOLEOS ... where they sat in a box for a half-hour
before going to the front of the store for sale.
It was like going back in time a hundred years ....

For sure, Cristobal...I was in that bakery oven area too many years ago...they let me use a 10ft. paddle to turn about 30 loaves of boleos with one
flip...quite a treat. We would load up on dozens of them at a time...of course taking orders from everyone back in the Bay. Always had a jar of
peanut butter and raspberry jam with me too! Hot from that oven they are simply GOOD. I have some here in the house right now..just wish they were
fresher. Funny how good things taste down here, eh?
Speaking of eating, can you place where this famous burrito, etc. wagon has been serving travelers of the Baja Road for over 25 years?? I always get
4 for the camino.

Yes... the Viva Baja sticker (above the open door) indicates good food!
They are also found at other fine eating Baja establishments like Alfonsina's, Mama Espinosa's, Rice & Beans, Rancho Santa Ynez, the original Las
Hamacas in Bahia de L.A., etc.

That CocaCola taco bus is smack dab on the plaza in San Ignacio next to the church. Another good snack stop...Jeez, I almost wish I hated Mexican
food. My Norwegian mother would have loved the tortillas..they are just 'lefse' in disguise.
I have to make this next very famous eatery harder to recognize...how about from the air?

Looks like Don Johnson's Serinidad Hotel in Mulege, I can see the pool with the swim-up bar, airstrip and launch ramp. One of our favorite stops on
most trips south.

You got it, PabloS...the old Serinadad Pig Roast got us all in for a great Saturday night fiesta for many years. Many years ago there were not too
many places around that could accomodate such a gathering and it was the social event of the week. You met hundreds of friends here, danced to the
mariachies, and drank way too many margaritas. A real good time, thanks to Don & Nancy Johnson. Here's an early photo of Don(he's 2nd from
left) followed by a more recent one.
