Going through some photos of interest... Here is my girlfriend in 1976 on out post high school graduation trip (to Loreto and Bahia Concepcion) by the
Pemex station, east side of the eagle monument... today is greatly hidden by trees and a giant flag.

135 ft. Monument to the Eagle of Mexico... he is facing north to the United States. Built to mark the completion of Highway One, Dec. 1, 1973. Beneath
it is an underground complex... originally a museum of artifacts from Baja California. The eagle and complex were to be the center of a future
agricultural city proposed. Guerrero Negro was four miles away and still mostly a company salt mine town.

Actually it's a giant tuning fork; they use it at the Army Cavalry base next door to tune their bugles.

It was turned into a military base many years ago, so I am guessing it is not open to the public anymore?
Who knows what happened to the museum artifacts that were once in the underground complex?
