Purchased a 1996 Chevy truck and discovered the other day that it uses and requires Dex Coolant. Checked Autozone today in Cabo and did not find any.
Any ideas where I can get some?
Thanks!

Probably Wal mart.

If you can find prestone coolant it replaces Dex.

I can check Walmart next time in Cabo or La Paz. Prestone was available at Costco and AutoZone but I thought I saw several types of Prestone.
Researching online it seemed the consensus was Dex Coolant sucked and there were lots of lawsuits regarding it.....Not to mix Dex Cool with any other
coolant and that it works if you drain and much as possible and start over with a new coolant but that using Dex Coolant was still your safest bet.
What a hassle and I could have easily brought some Dex Cool down last week from NOB.

I was in Auto repair bussiness over 45years.Many GMs with blown Head gaskets.Where helped by Dex coolant.Dont use it go with prestone.

Bob will probably chime in shortly to tell you all about coolants and how you should not take advise from someone who has 45 years in the auto repair
business...

I had independent auto repair. Two mechanics at GM dealer, told me No dex in there GMs. In my shop plenty of GMs with blown head gaskets. Took there
advise, always used prestone.Never had one comeback.

I use Evans waterless coolant in all my vehicles and am really happy with it. Many advantages over a water based coolant. check it out here: http://www.evanscooling.com/
