I bought a new truck and this will be the first trip SOB w a vehicle that the "bank" owns and I am making payments. What will I need to avoid hassles

I have taken all three of my new Tacomas to Baja before the plates arrived.
1) You should find out from the bank or whoever is holding the pink slip if they need to give you a permission slip.
In my case, I was leasing and Toyota said no paper was needed, they considered a lease the same as a purchase... and they know people take 4WD Toyotas
to Baja. No special waiver was needed.
2) What THEY and you will want is FULL MEXICAN INSURANCE COVERAGE, which will name them as the legal owner. Get full coverage from your favorite
Mexican Auto Insurance agent before crossing the border. An annual policy is FAR less expensive than daily policy prices if you are in Mexico over 2-3
weeks a year, more or less.
Neither Mexico or the U.S. said boo, as the truck had the temp slip taped in the windshield. As you say, you are the registered owner, so that is
really all there is to it.

Every new truck or car I got.No plates only want to see current Reg.No problem lien holder.On new Tacoma I had full Coverage Ins 250$ year Mexican

When I purchased my 04 Tacoma in 2010 I called Ally, the Lien holder, about going to Baja and they asked me to send them a copy of my Mexican

As long as you have a valid registration certificate, you will be OK. And I probably do not need to state that you need valid Mexican insurance, not

Get a permission letter from your lender. Probably will not need it but somewhere when I had a vehicle owned by the bank it said you needed this
permission letter. When traveling to Mexico it is best to have everything in order as rules change depending on who you are in front of... Better safe than sorry....DENNIS - 10-16-2015 at 06:59 PM

Pretty sure you mean Aduana. That said, if anyone has a registration certificate in their name, they need do nothing else.

I drove my brand-new Silverado across the border with just the Mexican insurance that named the bank as the lienholder, and took my brand-new,
non-polluting VW Passat TDI over before I even had tags, same thing.
No issues, not even a question.
