I don't know where it was taped, but could they be speaking Japanese?? I don't have a clue if there are Killer Whales in that area, but why not?

This video is truly amazing, but there is alot of debate on kayaker forums about its authenticity. Some have claimed it was made for a Korean
commercial and was doctored in some way. No one has really established with any confidence its authenticity. Enjoy but take it with a grain of salt.

That's a whale of a tale..

Mike,
I've seen Killer Whales in Bahia. Not to start a scare, just making an observation.

We pulled into La Gringa in the '80's with a large group of folks and lots of young children and the kids ran for the water as we were setting up
camp.
A few seconds later we looked about 1 hundred yards from shore and saw three of the unique Orca dorsal fins heading for the kids.
We started screaming and got the kids out immediately.
The next day we thought everything was back to normal and several of the ladies were snorkling off the La Gringa point and, once again, along come the
same orcas. The gals said they could hear them singing and they were not threatening.
I'll stick to Whale Sharks, thank you!
yikes!

awesome video! i've seen orcas in the Sea too, near Punta Chivato, but a long time ago.
"Sailing on toward Santa Rosalia, Brian caught a seven-pound tuna. We took Charlie with us to Punta Chivato, laid claim to a spot on the
camper-crowded beach and began to fix lunch. While Charlie was frying, my eyes wandered slowly over the seascape. I noticed what looked like two very
large dolphins slowly cruising near the shore. I pointed this out to Brian who exclaimed, "Those aren't dolphins. They're killer whales!" We grabbed
our cameras and ran to shore, our attention divided between the killer whales and the panic-stricken snorkelers scrambling for shore. The whales were
heading north. So, too, were we. Brian reminded me about the couple who spent 66 days at sea after killer whales had sunk their sailboat. We kept our
eyes peeled that afternoon as we sailed onward, staying close to shore."

Special effects magic for a Japanese TV commercial...it never happened.
Welcome to the new milenium, when seeing is no longer believing...at least with photos and video.

Yep. Clearly a Touch-Up

But it's still makes my heart pound. We've taken my 14' tin boat all over the Bahia de Los Angeles environs and ridden amongst many whales, some
almost close enough to touch and never felt threatened except for one occasion. We were heading south-west off the north point of Smiths, headed back
to the village. I was behind the motor and looked back at Smiths and saw two rust colored huge whales about 1000 yards behind us. They seemed to be
"fighting" and water saw splashing all over. I got out of there (I had my young children in the boat) ASAP. Since then I've looked in many whale
books and never seen anything the color of those guys. Maybe it was the light, but I don't think so.
