a rented 6X8 trailer or box truck (like a U-HAUL), to bring down some appliances/furniture?
What were your experiences with the Mexican Customs agents?
Can RENTED hauling equipment be brought down to Baja?BajaBlanca - 11-20-2015 at 01:58 PM
Udo, that is a tough call. I would ask Uhaul directly. as for customs, it should be the same rules as a regular vehicle, uhaul or not.Udo - 11-20-2015 at 02:26 PM
Thanks, Blanca...Uhaul told me no vehicles are authorized to Mexico, but I have seen Uhaul trucks and trailers in Ensenada, plus other trailer rentals
with the name of a USA rental agency on them.vandenberg - 11-20-2015 at 02:52 PM

In the early 90's I bought a used U Haul truck, a large one. Hauled all my belongings to Loreto. Did the required manifesto, listing everything
(serial numbers included. Entered SY and was required to have a importer do the paperwork. Mexican custom agent took us into TJ, had an importer type
up some papers, paid $70 and we were on our way. Had my stuff stored for 2 years in that truck while our house was being built.
Took it back to California and sold it for $500 more than I paid for it.
However things may be slightly different now!!DENNIS - 11-20-2015 at 03:37 PM
U-Haul sells their equipment when wear 'n tear calls for it.
Another thing, I've personally noticed, and heard of even more..... there are a lot of rented vehicles that are never returned. It's an insured
business expense for U-Haul that the consumer absorbs.Udo - 11-20-2015 at 04:57 PM

There is a gringo vendor that occasionally posts here advertising rental vehicles for Baja. That vendor advertise they have trailers for rent for use
in Baja.
Don't remember the vendor name.
Surely some nomad will fill in the blankbezzell - 11-20-2015 at 07:33 PM
