The reason I posted this is there's a paragraph on a Baja adventure with his family that epitomizes the Espiritu Baja in(most of) us. The man was,
is, and will be a legend in his genre. He went out in the saddle. He gave as good as he got. I wonder, did any Nomads get to meet him? Sounds like
an adventure in its' own right.

I never met the guy, or knew anything about him. bit I have used his gear for years.
Now if while riding a ski lift, some one asks "Who are you wearing?", I can answer with "Douglas Tompkins!".
Seriously though, I appreciate this link. It is good to know about the man and his accomplishments.
