Best plant nursery in BCS

Skipjack Joe - 12-9-2015 at 01:55 PM

Can anyone recommend their favorite plant nursery in BCS. I'm expecting that to be in the La Paz area. I'm mostly interested in agaves right now so a nursery with a large selection of cactuses and succulents would be best.

Thank you.

Actually to add to this - I'm looking for specimens of the 'blue glow agave' and the giant agave.

Vivero nursery on de las Americas, fracc. Campestre in LA Paz has a large assortment of plants and cactus. I have some blue agave pups if you want to U2 me.

Keith

so pretty.....there is that one nursery near todos santos - I wish I could remember the name. We didn't have a chance to really explore it but I do remember that one could get the guy to guide you around and that he had an eclectic selection of desert plants.

There's a vivero in town on Revolucion, 1 blk past Seven Crowns Hotel. Great old nursery/garden with wonderful specimen plants. A little pricey, but worth the drive to see the property.

A nice cactus/succulent nursery just past Campestre Grill as you're heading toward the airport - the right turn down the dirt road, after the old Posada Buffet building, before Walmart. About a block down, on the right.

In Centenario, Kiki's Nursery, on the west side of the highway, before it goes to 2-lane. Large selection. Large red and white sign.

come and see our agaves...I'd be happy to give you some starters! nancy & David have some too. Have you been to the nursery in Vizcaino? It is beside the Industrial store on the way into Vizcaino on the left...by the Comex paint store too.

I have been to both viveros in vizcaino and found the selection to be rather small.

Nancy and Dave have plants in their garden that are mostly endemic to central Baja as I recall. That one spaghetti looking succulent that grows straight up is kind of cool though.

Thanks for the offer.

There is a succulent and cactus nursery at Puerto Los Cabos in San Jose del Cabo that has a lot of interesting stuff.

I would have to second Kiki's outside La Paz.. Good prices to go along with their selection..

Thanks Tijereta. A picture is worth a thousand words. That does look like a sizable nursery with a large selection.
