Curp number/identification

Where do you apply for this in Loreto?
and what is the importance of having it?

carlosg - 1-7-2016 at 06:05 PM

...try your accountant, that's where I got mine.

Ed. If you have Temp or Perm Resident status, you already have a CURP.

DaliDali - 1-7-2016 at 06:29 PM

A CURP number is equivalent to a SS # in the US.
It identifies you specifically to the taxing authority known as the "hacienda".....which is equivalent to the IRS in the US.

Check your RP or RT card, it is right below your date of birth.

One thing the CURP does is allow you to sign up for free health care at Seguro Popular

any attorney will be able to get you one.

if you weren't assigned one when you got your immigration status, you can easily apply yourself. I got mine in La Paz many years ago. once you find wherever the current office is. take usual stuff, PR or TR, passport and electricity bill or such to show residence.

That is illegal, only direct family could do it for you

Yes and no. As opposed to the US, the taxing authority, hacienda does not use Curp, which barely started in 1996, they have always used the RFC for taxing purposes (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes). Maybe someday it will be like the US SS#

Some of the first cards, like the ones issued to my family at the beginning of 2013, did not have the CURP printed on it.
There is a website you can go to and print as many copies as you'd like.

Looky here!

That link is only good if you already have a Curp. The first time you have to personally go and apply or your parents or you for your children......
