where in baja sur are they? is there one specific should go to if I am to be living in los barriles?

Either SJDC or La Paz. You are sorta half bay between the two.

Cabo or La Paz, I don't think there is one in SJdC. The one in Cabo is easy to get to. It's just on the right after the second light as you exit the 4 lane towards the marina. Just be aware that once you start at one office you are stuck there. You can't change offices-or so I'm told.

You are right about changing offices.

If you move into another INM office jurisdiction (from LaPaz to Ensenada for example) you have to register with the 'new' INM office.

Is there not an INM office in Santa Rosalia at the Ferry terminal?

Yes, I have been there. It is in the large two story white building, and their offices are on the second floor.
The people there are not very helpful should you have any questions...even in speaking perfect Spanish.
They are very timely in taking their lunch time.

head into La Paz on Forjadores and take a right on Cinco de Febrero, it's about a block up on the right.

It has a small parking lot in front; you may have to find street parking.
